Lyrically it sings about despite being around acquaintances, friends, or even family, feeling like they don’t know you properly. It’s about how everyone has their surface level personalities and interactions with others, whilst having a much deeper story about themselves that most have no idea about.
Overall the song has a quirky up-lifting and light-hearted feel about it, giving off vibes of amusement, contentment and shrugging it off.
“‘They Don’t Know Me’ was a song I wrote while reflecting on the fact that my everyday life and persona was different to the “real” me and my experiences. It describes a feeling of isolation in the lack of understanding that I felt from everyone around me and the putting up of a facade or talking about things that didn’t really matter. Since writing and reflecting on this song that I wrote in 2018, I've realised that everyone can feel this way; we are all icebergs with our deeper stories and experiences hidden underneath the surface.” - Bel

The song 'Blindfold' writes about the feeling of deep vulnerability and the state of confusion when you wake up from deep manipulation, not knowing whether to blame yourself for feeling as though you let it happen, or to blame the perpetrator - or both.
It takes you on a journey through the thought process of putting the pieces together as you wake up from the mess of a situation that has occurred.
With realizations of feeling ashamed by being bedazzled by someone's darkness and magnetically drawn to their abuse inducing mess, while also noticing the way they were in turn magnetically drawn to your state of weak vulnerability while seemingly intoxicated by your trauma.
This song leaves you wondering who was the moth and who was the flame, yet in the process shows who is the real fool to blame.
